http://momkiss2u.blogspot.com/2008/01/found-confetti-in-nyc-luno.html is an old post where I was wondering who found my little piece of confetti that was launched at Times Square, NYC 2008. There was this web page where you could write something on it and have your message shot from near the ball at midnight. It turns out, the web page people did shoot my message on the tiniest piece of confetti and someone found it and sent me a quick post on my blog but that was it. I wondered who it was and then with time forgot all about it---until today.
Forward five months and I am clearing up some old emails and there is an old mail from the person who found it. How cool it that? He sent it about the time we were on vacation with the in-laws in Feb., so I must have just passed over it.
Turns out it is a male, 17 from New Jersey. You know how you might put a note in a bottle at sea and there is no way, not a chance in hell that someone is ever going to find it? Well son of a gun, some one named Luno found my little note and let me know. Chances had to be a zillion to one that I'd ever hear a thing, let alone a follow up and I almost deleted it.
He wrote, " I still have a mound of confetti on my desk right next to my homer simpson chia pet, which i find a little ironic because homer is pretty much bald." Now that is a good sense of humor and he must be a nice kid to appease me with a finders email.
Sort of restores my faith in humanity.
